On May 27, 2025, KnitWarm took center stage at the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair, contributing to a vibrant panel discussion on "The Future of GeronTech: How to Stand Out in the Silver Market." Moderated by Ms. Holy Lam, Manager (Digital Health) at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), the panel featured our innovation consultant, Stanley, alongside Calvin from Incus, both award-winning HKSTP innovators. Together, we explored how elderly-centric design drives high-quality gerontechnology that resonates with seniors.

With Hong Kong’s elderly population projected to exceed one in three by 2043, the silver economy presents immense opportunities. At KnitWarm, we’re leading the charge with our smart textiles—think app-controlled heated knitwear that delivers customizable warmth and comfort, tailored to seniors’ needs for independence and ease. Our solutions prioritize intuitive interfaces, sustainable materials, and reliable performance, ensuring seniors can live vibrantly and confidently.

The panel’s insights align with the Hong Kong government’s recent announcement of 30 measures to boost the silver economy, from supporting gerontech research and development to promoting elderly-friendly products [Ref: Hong Kong Government Press Release, May 27, 2025]. These initiatives underscore the growing demand for innovations like ours, which bridge technology and human-centered design to enhance seniors’ quality of life.

We’re grateful to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) for hosting this impactful session during International Healthcare Week. As we continue to innovate, KnitWarm remains committed to empowering seniors through gerontechnology that warms both body and spirit. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to shape a silver-friendly future!
